The storms of yesterday generated the winds of today. Here I sit and wait out today’s wind storm. At about 2 this morning Rich was outside working on aligning my fenders. More about that later. Those Aere fenders are great !
Now, for more about the wind storm. My Sirius weather chartplotter showed that winds were in excess of 30 miles per hour and they just kept on coming. I was tied on only one side because unlike my home in Cape May there are no pilings between the boats. To make matters worse the finger piers appear to be anchored only to the central pier. As most of you know, I am big and tall and have a lot of area exposed to the wind. That area coupled with a 30 mile an hour wind created a substantial amount of pressure against the finger pier. The finger pier began to groan and move. The captain of Rock Chalk pointed out the movement in the finger pier to Rich, then they worked together to add some more lines and tie me off in different places.
Rich and Carol sent Cindy, their oldest daughter, a happy birthday email today, so now it is my turn. Cindy don’t worry us girls will never disclose our age.
